Do I need to buy anything else with the Primary Arts of Language?

The Primary Arts of Language provides everything you need for the arts of language for a year or more with your primary age student. You will need to print student pages from the DVD-ROM, or you can purchase them pre-printed from IEW: PAL: Writing Student Book or PAL: Reading Student Book.

A few additional inexpensive supplies are needed:

PAL: Reading includes a few short readers. The rest of the books that your student will read can come from the library. The Teacher’s Manual gives you a list of book recommendations, so you can choose the books you like. The goal of the program is to teach your child to read at a first or second grade level.
You will also need a set of 35 plain file folders, 3x5 cards (about 200), a clipboard, and craft supplies (markers, crayons, glue, scissors, etc.) The Reading Teacher's Manual gives you a shopping list. It may be previewed in the sample at the bottom of the PAL: Reading Complete Package page.

For PAL: Writing, you will need a composition notebook (hard or spiral bound), wide-ruled notebook paper, and a 3x5 card box. A small magnetic whiteboard is recommended, but not required.
